The Las investigation "A modernized labor law" has been severely criticized during the past week, mainly from trade unions, the Left Party and Labor Minister Eva Nordmark (S).

When the investigation is now officially presented, LO again comments on the proposal.

"You call it modernized labor law, but there is probably no false name in this case, because it is about going back to some prehistoric time in terms of employment protection," says Torbjörn Johansson.

"Labor law weakens"

According to Johansson, the weakening of labor law takes place in two stages: the extension of the exemptions and it is no longer possible to annul a dismissal for personal reasons.

- This means that companies with less than five employees have no employment protection if this goes through. You will not have any employment protection. It is not possible to determine whether employers have done the right thing.

"Kit Motion"

- It says it should be balanced. If you think of a seesaw and there is Pelle and Lisa and swing. All of a sudden you put Dumbo at one end, there is no balance left, says Johansson and continues:

- You will rebalance the entire job security. All in all, this is a crap proposal that should be adapted to the bin, says Johansson and continues.

"Waste of time"

LO's chairman Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson sums up the investigation work as "it has been a great waste of time":

- This will not lead anywhere and it will not be the basis for new legislation. Now the Social Democrats, who have made a two-party pledge, have to sit on the drawing bench and start discussing.

Swedish business and industry positive

Swedish Enterprise and Industry sees upside with the investigation.

"Our starting value is that the labor market needs extensive reform," says Swedish business executive vice president Mattias Dahl.

- When it comes to the investigation, there are things that open up to a more flexible labor market, which would enable companies to dare to employ more. That's good, because we need to work down unemployment, ”says Dahl, mentioning, among other things, the extension of the exemptions a positive measure.
