The press chief of the Department of Interior of the Generalitat, Joan Maria Piqué, has called through social networks for an armed uprising to achieve the independence of Catalonia.

"Perhaps it is an approach that we have not yet thought of and would work," Piqué wrote on Twitter, along with a photograph of a Civil War poster in which the arm of a man is seen wielding a weapon over the Republican flag and the harangue. : "Again for our independence".

The poster of the republican side evokes the popular uprising of 1808 against the Napoleonic troops and calls to use it as an example to respond to the military uprising led by Francisco Franco in 1936. Piqué, who was Artur Mas's press chief when he held the Presidency of the Generalitat and collaborated with Carles Puigdemont , he has invited the independence movement to follow the armed route taking advantage of the celebration of May 2, the day of the community of Madrid, which it precisely commemorates.

The message was published around 10.30 am this Saturday and Piqué has already deleted it.

The Mossos leadership union, SICME, has already criticized the message: "Interior needs people at the head of the communication department with the capacity to give messages of calm and common sense. This does not represent us."
