by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea 30 March 2020 Germán Efromovich insists on Alitalia, coming forward and talking about the relaunch of the Italian flight company.

According to reports from union sources, the entrepreneur of Bolivian origins wanted to meet the unions by videoconference to present his plan for Alitalia.

The former president of Avianca, who is still the first shareholder of the Colombian airline today, had already come forward in July 2019. He has now presented a new expression of interest for the latest call which expired on March 18 after the first attempt went empty last summer.

The entrepreneur born in La Paz, from a family of Polish origin, wanted to meet the unions precisely to illustrate his project for the Italian company: Efremovich would have shown himself available to participate in partnerhisp with the Government in the relaunch of Alitalia, through the his company under Luxembourg law, Synergy Group, if this aims to build a large company.

The entrepreneur Efromovich offers capital as well as the availability for a partnership with the government, but asks to be able to access the ' data room ', for a framework that allows him to develop an industrial plan .

In the video conference meeting with the unions, there was no reference to figures - despite saying that they have capital available to make investments - for the relaunch of the company. Efromovich, however, would have insisted a lot on the need to access the 'data room', complaining about not having had access to it already in 2019.

The current situation is practically suspended, waiting to understand who, among the 8 who presented expressions of interest, went to the next stage; communication that the commissioner should have made within 5 days from 18 March. Given the deadlock, Efromovich has therefore decided to increase the pressure on the Government and would aim for a 'transparency' meeting with the Ministry of Economic Development , together with Alitalia and the unions, to illustrate their intentions in detail.

According to the South American entrepreneur, Alitalia, due to the country's position, can be a strategic company and not a small marginal company.
