Mali: at least 3 soldiers killed in the attack on the Bambara Maoudé military camp

At least three Malian soldiers were killed and five injured Sunday, February 23, in an attack on an army camp at Bambara Maoudé, in the Timbuktu region of northern Mali, by suspected jihadists, said the Malian army.

The attack took place this Sunday at the jump of the bed in the locality of Bambara Maoudé a hundred kilometers from the locality of Timbuktu.
The alleged jihadist attackers arrived on a motorcycle, but above all in vehicles. One detail, the vehicles bore the acronym FAMa, for Malian Armed Forces. It is often a strategy to deceive the enemy by posing as an ally.
Heavy fire against the regular troops camp. At least three soldiers were killed, others injured, they will be evacuated later to central Mali, thanks in particular to a helicopter from the UN Mission.
During this attack, the FAMa deplore a provisional toll of 3 dead, 5 injured and material damage. The injured were helicoptered to # Sevaré.

Rolling and military equipment was imported by the attackers. For their part, the attackers were said to have suffered loss of life. The locality of Bambara Maoudé occupies a strategic position. When you come from the locality Gossi, located further south, it is the main and last lock before arriving in Timbuktu.
After this new attack, experts observe that the attackers behave like real armies.
