The non-governmental organization Peace Now announced that the Israeli occupation authorities decided to build 2342 new housing units in Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

According to the organization, the Supreme Planning Committee of the Civil Administration approved the construction of these units during a meeting held on the tenth of last October and the details are not yet clear. "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to sabotage the possibility of reaching a political agreement with the Palestinians by encouraging more settlement construction in the West Bank," it said.

On the other hand, the Israeli occupation forces arrested at dawn yesterday the Palestinian Legislative Council member and a senior member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Khaleda Jarrar from her house in Ramallah, several months after her release, according to her daughter Jaffa.

"The Israeli forces carried out a campaign of arrests on Thursday night, which resulted in the arrest of 12 Palestinians from different parts of the occupied West Bank, including Jarrar and Palestinian writer Ali Jaradat," spokeswoman Amani Sardna told AFP.

"The occupation forces arrest my mother, Khaleda Jarrar, from our house in Ramallah," she wrote on her Facebook account.

The PLO demanded that Israel immediately release Jarrar.

"We demand the immediate release of Sister Khaleda Jarrar, one of the leaders of the Palestinian political, social and women's work," Saeb Erekat, secretary of the organization's executive committee, wrote on his Twitter account.

For its part, condemned the member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Hanan Ashrawi the arrest of MP Jarrar.
