“In order to extend to electronic mail services the duties imposed by the current law on messengers, the new edition establishes a common concept for them -“ the organizer of the messaging service, ”the parliamentarian said.
According to him, changes are also being made to the Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia, which provide for the corresponding administrative responsibility of these service organizers.
“At the same time, the bill corrects the provisions of the law regarding the limitation of correspondence. So, in practice, it’s advisable to completely block the user, and not the individual messages sent to him, ”he added.
According to the agency, the authors of the initiative are Senators Klishas, Alexander Bashkin, Lyudmila Bokova and Alexander Karlin.
Earlier, Roskomnadzor announced its readiness to create a list of distributors of false information.
Such a list may include the addresses of pages (online communities, publications and individuals).
