On October 2, 2018, Saudi journalist and regime critic Jamal Khashoggi entered the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul. He was then murdered inside.

In a UN report presented by investigator Agnès Callamard, "credible evidence" was found that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had links to the murder, but he completely denies that in the CBS interview.

- It was a horrible crime. But as a leader, I take full responsibility, especially since it was an act performed by individuals who worked for the Saudi government.

He was asked during the interview whether he believes there was any strategic explanation for the attack on the Aramco oil refinery, which Iran has been suspected of.

- I think it's just stupidity. There is no strategic goal. Only a fool would attack something that accounts for five percent of global production. The only strategic goal is to show that they are stupid and that is exactly what they showed, continues Mohammed bin Salman.
