The most common diseases among Russian schoolchildren were named

Specialists from the National Medical Research Center for Children's Health under the Ministry of Health of Russia found out how children's health changes over the 11-year period of schooling and named the most common diseases among students.



According to the results of the study, which was reviewed by RT, the health of schoolchildren from 1st to 11th grade worsened.

So, if in the first grade 4.3% of the observed schoolchildren were classified as absolutely healthy, then by the end of the training there were no such students.

The authors of the study note that over 11 years of school life, the prevalence of functional abnormalities in children increased by almost 15%, and chronic diseases were diagnosed by 52.8% more often.

Among boys and young men, diseases such as gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, obesity, flat feet, bronchial asthma and hypertension are most common.

In turn, girls and girls are more susceptible to such health disorders as weight loss, headaches, neurosis, myopia.

The study also showed that, from a psychological point of view, the 1st and 3rd grades and 11th grades became the most intense period of training for boys. For girls - the period from the 9th to 11th grade.

The study was conducted from 2005 to 2015. There were 426 students from four schools in Moscow. More than 25 thousand medical examinations were carried out.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health gave recommendations on preparing children for the first class.
