A few weeks ago, the municipality advised against bathing in Lake Boulogner, as bacteria from the Canada geese 's faeces were found in the water.

After a while, the water quality improved. But the geese, which are not popular with the bathers, remain. Attempts have been made to scare the birds with sounds. But that has not helped.

Now, Skövde municipality's park department is laying out colorful toy snakes around the lake, near the water.

- The idea is for the geese to see the snakes from the air and not want to land here, says Elin Fredriksson, group manager in the park department, to Skövde News.

The hope is that the Canadian geese will instead land, for example, at a bird pond, which is a bit away from the bathing lake.
- It is a simple action, and if it can help us then it is the top, says Elin Fredriksson.

She also pleads that people should not remove the plastic worms.

A few years ago, toy snakes were sold out in many stores, because private individuals wanted to use them as scarecrows on boats, jetties, roofs and the like. But it is unclear how much the snakes have.
