The Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Azhar, the Grand Imam of the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, said that Al-Azhar opens its doors to all Iraqis in various components and is ready for further cooperation in various fields of science and advocacy, whether by offering more scholarships to Iraqi students studying in Al-Azhar. The most important issues and problems facing them, so that they can contribute to the stability and coexistence of the community in Iraq.
This came during a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi during his visit to Cairo.
At the beginning of the meeting, the eminence of the Grand Imam noted the historical relations between Egypt and Iraq, which have always been an important axis for integration and joint Arab action.
He praised the great results achieved by Iraq in the fight against terrorism and the elimination of the organization "Da'ash" terrorist.
For his part, the Iraqi Prime Minister stressed his country's great appreciation of Al-Azhar's pivotal role in confronting extremism and terrorism. He pointed out that Al-Azhar's efforts to refute extremist ideology were a key factor in the success of the war on terror.
Adel Abdul Mahdi said Iraq aspires to raise cooperation with Al-Azhar as the largest Islamic institution. Al-Azhar has a great place among the Iraqi people in all its components and sects because of its sincere and impartial stance towards Iraq.
