His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, yesterday morning opened the Center for International Cultural Heritage Organizations in the University City of Sharjah.

Upon his arrival, His Highness was received by traditional songs, and he was received by Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, Head of the Ruler's Office, and a number of senior officials and representatives of cultural and heritage centers and institutions.

After removing the curtain, marking the official opening of the building, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah toured the halls of the building, looking at the offices and divisions of the international cultural organizations included in the center, listening to an explanation about the most prominent facilities, services and initiatives that will be provided.

His Highness reviewed the exhibition held in the building's exhibition hall, which includes paintings and explanations about the most prominent and most important roles and achievements of organizations concerned with cultural heritage, and got acquainted with those in charge of these organizations to their efforts that contribute to preserving cultural heritage around the world.

After that, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah went to the theater of the Center for International Cultural Heritage Organizations, where the opening activities started with the national peace of the country.

The President of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Muslim, said in his speech during the opening: “It is in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, aimed at making the emirate an incubator of world heritage, open to the cultures of peoples, the world heritage with its various elements, symbols, and components, Its bodies and organizations working in this field, Sharjah Heritage Institute has taken confident steps to achieve the vision and advance the idea, and the opening of the Center for International Cultural Heritage Organizations is a true translation of that, to be the first center of its kind ».

He added, “The organizations affiliated with the Center work to preserve and preserve the cultural heritage, in both its tangible and intangible aspects, and make significant contributions in the field of care and protection of heritage from loss and extinction, according to strategic visions and tight policies that carry out the desired goal, making its existence important and necessary, to enhance Communication and cultural exchange, opening up to global experiences in preserving cultural heritage, and supporting efforts in this context ».

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, during the opening of the Center for International Cultural Heritage Organizations, a number of popular folklore performances from different countries, and included playing bandora, fugitive and santur instruments.

The center includes six international organizations specialized in the field of cultural heritage: the ICCROM Center - Sharjah, the International Organization for Folk Art, the International Council of Folklore and Folklore Festivals Organizations, the Folk Olympics in Sardinia, the Zhejiang Industrial and Commercial University of China, and the National Institute of Archeology and Heritage in Rabat.
