Three years ago, a Dutch court ruled that the oil company must reduce its emissions. Now Shell is trying to downplay its culpability for the climate crisis in the appeal process.
The appeal process started this week and will continue until next Friday. The verdict is expected in the second half of the year, but Shell and its new lawyers hope to overturn the verdict. In the coming week there will be further lawsuits in the context of climate protection, they are against the governments of various countries.
