No one can erase Mikel Izal's smile from his face. In the midst of a concert tour, he is enjoying his new solo stage with a dedicated audience. A few weeks ago he performed for two days in Madrid and with the sold out poster he achieved it in just a few hours. Today, he is celebrating again because the song with which he started his free project,

La Fe

, in June 2023, has been re-released with Pablo Alborán, in

a collaboration that can be heard from today

.

The Malaga artist was moved listening to the song and sent him a message to tell him; Then came the concert at Wizink in which he invited the Navarrese artist to sing with him. And now this project. Along the way, we spoke with Mikel to learn more about his tastes and personality from gastronomy and food. At his last dinner, he confesses, there would be no shortage of cannelloni from his mother and the actress Jennifer Lawrence.

What role does food and gastronomy play in your life? I love to eat. That's the summary. They are the happy moments that I have guaranteed in my daily life, a wonderful pleasure. Who would you like to sit at the table with that you don't know? With Jennifer Lawrence. Aside from the obvious beauty of her, whenever I see an appearance of hers I'm surprised by how spontaneous and fun she is (or seems to be). She must be a very interesting woman with a lot to tell. I don't think there were many awkward silences. The person you most enjoy eating with? I think what I enjoy most is

eating alone

. Reading a book or watching a series. It's my time. A place where you always enjoy at the table? At my parents' house, except when they decide to make vegetable puree. What does your life taste like now? Of vertigo and excitement. A powerful combination. I'm starting my solo career and that makes anyone nervous, but I'm receiving an avalanche of affection. A very beautiful time. A dish that you lose your mind over and what music would you play to enjoy it? My mother's cannelloni. They don't need music, they are music. What makes your life bitter?

The hate and gratuitous opinions

that have to be endured today. We live in a time of great noise. Why do you lack eggs and why do you have plenty? Sometimes I lack the balls to generate a conflict when perhaps it is necessary, I don't like confrontation. I have enough to get naked in my songs and on stage, metaphorically! Do you have prejudices against any cuisine? Which and why? The truth is, no. I have been fortunate to travel a lot and I have always enjoyed trying everything that came my way.

Maybe insects are the threshold I can't cross

For a first date, what type of cuisine do you prefer? Something that is not too heavy, so you don't end up rolling and swollen like a zeppelin in case the date goes too far. The illusion is the last thing that is lost...If you could only eat one thing, what would you choose? Ugh, I'm not going to choose my mother's cannelloni because she would end up hating them. I'll say pizza, to look for the legal loophole of being able to put whatever you want on top of it every time. A recipe that borders... The few times I've made them I've nailed the lentils. Are you one of those who invite guests or are you one of those who are in no hurry to take out wallet? I like that everyone has the intention to pay. Then I don't mind paying. Last time you got stuffed? I have been to China recently and there has been more than one binge. A confessable mania when it comes to sitting at the table... As I almost always eat alone and read a book, I cut pieces of bread that I put on the plate and cut everything in little pieces so you can eat only with your fork and be able to hold the book with your other hand. My plate looks like that of little children who have everything cut into little pieces. What are you eating with your eyes? I'm a big fan of ordering because I arrive hungry and everything fills my eyes. My eyes write checks that my stomach can't pay. Is the customer always right? Absolutely. That's bullshit like a temple. Another thing is that you have to put up with the client's mistakes politely. The sweetest moment you have experienced on stage? The wheat plazas of Sonorama were always incredible moments. The Wizink Center in Madrid. The first concerts in small halls when suddenly it was filled with a hundred people and I was more excited than a Santiago Bernabéu... Many beautiful nights. What would the menu for your last dinner be like? A mixture of all the previous answers. Yes, there would be Jennifer Lawrence. Hello, Jennifer. When choosing a delivery, you lose... The schnitzel. These are like a huge sheet. I could eat ten.
