In Poland, which currently has no nuclear power plants, six reactors are to be built in the next few years. The next reactor in Slovakia is scheduled to go online in 2025.

In the “Moreno+1” podcast, host Juan Moreno talks to Professor Hurtado about the reasons for this European comeback of nuclear energy.

For Hurtado, the reasons are obvious. “I also wish we could rely exclusively on renewable energies,” says Hurtado. »But that will be difficult: complete decarbonization by 2045 will hardly be possible without nuclear power. Hydrogen technologies will take a long time before they can contribute to the desired energy supply everywhere.
