A 10-year-old girl died this Saturday morning in Aubervilliers, in Seine-Saint-Denis, crushed by a tourist bus leaving a metro station.

The driver's alcohol and drug screening turned out to be negative, according to the Bobigny public prosecutor's office. 

A 10-year-old girl died Saturday morning in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis), crushed by a tourist bus, police sources and the Bobigny prosecutor's office said.

The child was hit by a tourist bus around 9 a.m. on Avenue Jean Jaurès, at the exit of a metro station.

“She was crossing at a red light (for pedestrians, editor’s note), the driver did not see her,” the Bobigny prosecutor’s office told AFP.

The driver's alcohol and drug screening was negative, according to the prosecution.

440 pedestrians were killed in road accidents in France in 2023, down 10% compared to the previous year, according to the latest figures from Road Safety.
