After the violent bad weather which hit Gard in recent days, the search carried out by rescuers resumed this Monday morning for four people who were still not found.

Among them, two children, four and thirteen years old, as well as their father, swept away by the waters before their mother's eyes.

They tried to cross a submersible bridge in Dions by car where the emotion and shock are still very present.

While three lifeless bodies were discovered in Gard on Sunday by emergency services in Goudargues following the violent bad weather which hit the south-east of France, four people are still actively sought.

Among them, a father and his two children, aged four and thirteen.

They were swept away by water while trying to drive across a submersible bridge in Dions.

In this small village of 600 inhabitants, the concern is very great.

"It's very dangerous"

It was here that this family's vehicle was found.

He was located near the bridge from which he was lost on Saturday evening and it was the drop in the water level that allowed emergency services to see the car without anyone inside.

The search resumed at the start of the morning and aerial resources, but also divers will be mobilized, even if for the latter, the task will be very complicated, explains Philippe.

He is a fisherman and knows the freezing waters of the Gardon, this small river that drains the village.

"You don't know the water level, the current is very active and carries it along. So it's very dangerous. There, the water is frozen. All this water comes from the mountains, there is a risk of hypothermia,” he concluded.

It is therefore in these very complicated conditions that the search resumed this morning, with unfortunately little hope of finding the members of this family alive.
