The scientists published their findings in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

For the first time, the wall, which is located at a depth of 21 m, was discovered in 2021 by researchers and students of the University of Kiel (Germany) during geophysical research on the seabed of the Mecklenburg Bay of the Baltic.

It is noted that the wall at the bottom of the sea stretches for 1 km and consists of 1670 stones. Scientists began research to determine the origin of the discovered wall.

During the study, scientists concluded that the wall was most likely built by Stone Age communities for deer hunting more than 10 thousand years ago.
