In a recently published article, TheNew York Times has established the essential places not to miss if you spend at least 36 hours in Madrid. Along with the Royal Palace and the Reina Sofía Museum, the emblematic newspaper has chosen as the most outstanding cultural attraction of the capital the Corral de la Morería, the legendary space that has already been awarded as "Best Flamenco Tablao in the World" and obtained the "National Gastronomy Award".

The tourist relevance it acquires worldwide has been granted by the fusion of flamenco show and gastronomy that conquers the palate of visitors since its inauguration in 1956. The establishment, which has a Michelin star and three suns from the Repsol Guide, has been visited throughout its history by numerous national and international film and music stars. Among his clients are Ava Gardner, Frank Sinatra, John Lennon, Harrison Ford, Jennifer Aniston, Tim Burton or the Rolling Stones.

Culinary art

The Corral de la Morería has two gastronomic spaces prepared to enjoy haute cuisine. The restaurant of the same name stands out, since it is a special and unique environment in which chef David García (disciple of great chefs such as Martín Berasategui and Ferran Adrià) designs a personalized proposal. It only has four tables and exclusive kitchen for a maximum of eight people (price: 85 euros without pairing).

Restaurant Corral de la Morería

The Corral de la Morería has managed to merge art with haute cuisine in the same space. It is considered the cathedral of flamenco in Spain and has the best tablao in the world. Renowned flamenco artists who have made history have passed through its stage. Among the most recognized are Paco de Lucía, who chose him to perform for the first time his well-known song Entre Dos Aguas, or Camarón, who with only 13 years old climbed the tablao. Stars such as El Cigala, Pastora Imperio, Mario Maya, Antonio Gades or Blanca del Rey have also performed in this temple of flamenco. Among the shows that can currently be attended it is likely to find on stage Jesús Carmona, Patricia Guerrero, Manuel Liñán and Olga Pericet with their projects, but the space also has its own productions (see program here). Price of the show + drink: 49.95 euros.
