Yvelines: a man, convicted of domestic violence, fatally wounded by his ex-girlfriend

A fifty-year-old, convicted of domestic violence, died in the night from Monday to Tuesday after being wounded with a knife in Vaux-sur-Seine (Yvelines) by his ex-companion, whom he was forbidden to approach. An investigation for homicide by spouse was opened and the woman, aged 45, was placed in custody, said the Versailles prosecutor's office, requested by AFP.

According to a police source, the facts took place at the home of the ex-companion, located in the small town of Vaux-sur-Seine, about forty kilometers northwest of Paris. The first findings report stab wounds to the lower limbs of the man, transported and died in hospital at the age of 51, said the prosecutor's office. The investigation, conducted by the police station of Mureaux, "will have to focus on determining the context in which the facts took place: either the man violated a ban on contacting and going to the home of his ex-girlfriend, or the two had resumed a common life," said a source close to the case.
