A man in his 30s has been arrested for trespassing into a women's restroom in a public institution to satisfy his sexual desire.
Jeju Dongbu Police Station announced that it is investigating the arrest of a man in his 30s on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (invasion of a multi-use place for sexual purposes).
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of breaking into a women's bathroom on the first floor of a public institution in Jeju City for about 15 minutes from 6:10 to 25 pm on the 30th of last month.
Woman B, who was using the bathroom at the time, sensed something suspicious through the cubicle reflected in the mirror, and found and caught Mr. A leaving the women's bathroom after waiting outside her.
Confused by Mr. B's question, "What are you doing here?" Mr. A said, "I came out to inspect" and ran away, but she was immediately caught by security personnel and handed over to the police.
As a result of the police investigation, it was confirmed that there was no video footage of Mr. A installing or filming an illegal camera inside the women's bathroom.
