You can easily come across job advertisements such as 'a warm-looking man' or 'female preference'.

You may be punished for violating the Equal Employment Opportunity Act.

Last year, companies that posted sexist job advertisements online were caught by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Sexist advertisements were used across most occupations, mainly in part-time job recruitment.

There were many expressions such as 'recruitment of men' and 'preferential treatment of women', saying that only certain genders were hired or given preferential treatment.

Cases of requesting physical conditions that are not necessary for job performance, such as height of 172 cm or more, warm appearance, and kitchen aunt, or pointing to a specific gender in the title of the job were also confirmed.

There was also an advertisement that discriminated against wages according to gender, such as 'male 110,000 won, female 97,000 won'.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor issued written warnings or corrective measures against 810 companies that posted sexist job advertisements, and in 2020 received written warnings and prosecuted one company that was caught.
