A son in his 50s who is accused of assaulting and killing an elderly mother in her 80s with a blunt weapon has been arrested.

Police obtained several pieces of evidence, including finding bloodstains of his mother on the sleeve of the son's clothes in his 50s.

The Deokjin Police Station in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province announced today (30th) that it has arrested Mr. A in his 50s on charges of murdering an ascendant.

According to the police, Mr. A is accused of beating his mother B in her 80s with a blunt weapon at a house in Deokjin-gu, Jeonju on the afternoon of the 25th.

On the 26th, the police found Mr. B hiding in the master bedroom after receiving a report from his eldest son that "he could not reach her mother."

At the time of her discovery, Mr. B had her hands and feet tied with tape, and her head was scarred.

The police identified and investigated the second son, Mr. A, who was living with his mother as a suspect, and arrested him on the 27th.

At the time of dispatch, the police found a blunt weapon that was believed to have been used by Mr. A in the crime at the scene, but during the initial investigation, it was difficult to confirm it as a tool for the crime because they could not find the blood of Mr. B's mother.

As a result of the detailed identification, Mr. B's DNA was detected in the blunt instrument, and the police believe that his son A tried to destroy the evidence by wiping the blunt instrument with detergent.

Mr. A, who is known to have recently been in conflict with his mother over the issue of being hospitalized in a mental hospital, is in a state of complete denial of the crime.

A police official said, “The investigation is not going smoothly, such as Mr. A’s gibberish.”
