A man in his 40s who got into a fight with his girlfriend's ex-lover and killed him 10 hours later has been sentenced to prison.

Today (30th), the 15th Criminal Division of the Incheon District Court (Chief Judge Lee Kyu-hoon) sentenced A (46), who was charged with causing injury, to three years in prison.

Mr. A was accused of assaulting his girlfriend's ex-lover B (38) in the hallway of an officetel in Incheon at around 10:00 am on July 22 last year and causing his death.

Mr. A pushed his ex-lover Mr. B from his girlfriend's house and pushed him from the 2m high emergency staircase while fighting when he pressed his doorbell.

As a result, Mr. B fell down the stairs and injured his head, and the police and paramedics who were dispatched at the time recommended Mr. B to "go to the hospital and get treatment."

However, Mr. B refused their invitation for unknown reasons and took a taxi alone from the taxi stand given by the police patrol car to Dongam Station, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon.

Mr. B collapsed on a crosswalk near Dongam Station two hours later, was taken to the hospital and received emergency surgery, but died 10 hours after the incident.

The doctor who treated Mr. B said, "The victim's brain was shifted to the right due to the impact on the left side of the head and face, and hemorrhage occurred in the right side of the head."

Accordingly, the prosecution handed over Mr. A to trial, saying that Mr. B had died due to a cerebral hemorrhage caused by the previous assault.

Mr. A, who stood in court, claimed, "There is a fact that Mr. B was injured, but it is difficult to admit a causal relationship between the injury and death."

However, the judge who looked at the case acknowledged the charge of injury and death, saying, "Apart from the injury done by Mr. A to Mr. B, I could not find any other circumstances that could cause the subdural hemorrhage, which was the direct cause of Mr. B."

The judge said, "It is reasonable to assume that Mr. A's injury was the main cause of the serious outcome of Mr. B's death." “, judged.
