A driver driving a city bus turned off a fire near a shopping mall while driving to prevent a situation that could lead to serious damage.

According to Gyeongju City, 62-year-old Choi Woo-sik, a driver of Gyeongju New Millennium Smile 600 city bus, witnessed a fire around a commercial building next to the road while driving in Oedong-eup, Gyeongju-si during the day on the 20th.

Choi hurriedly stopped the bus and ran with a powder fire extinguisher stored next to the door to put out the fire.

After Choi extinguished the fire to some extent, the fire did not spread further as police and firefighters were dispatched.

It was a situation that could lead to great damage if the fire spread to the mall.

At the time, the closed-circuit (CC) TV on the bus showed Choi putting out the fire with a fire extinguisher.

"I just did my job," said Mr. Choi.
