Even after I exclusively reported on the SBS 8:00 News, there is something I have been focusing on conveying to you all.

This is news about a broker who arranged for exemption from military service with a false diagnosis of epilepsy.

This broker had its first trial today (27th).

At today's trial, the military service broker appeared to admit most of his charges.

This is reporter Sagong Seong-geun's report.

<Reporter> In

his first trial today, military service broker Koo admitted all of his charges.

Goo's lawyer appealed for leniency, saying, "The accused is deeply sorry for his wrongdoing and confessed to the crime from the beginning of the investigation."

He also claimed that he acted as a military service broker to earn money while Goo was suffering from hardships in life.

The lawyer also requested that the sentencing consider the fact that the diagnosis of epilepsy and the criteria for judging military service were unclear in the first place.

He complained of epilepsy and continued to receive drug treatment, even if he was not an actual patient, he could receive a supplementary service or be exempted.

Military service broker Koo is accused of helping his clients avoid military service by having them falsely diagnosed with epilepsy from February 2020 to October last year.

There are only seven people listed in the prosecution's indictment that escaped military service through Mr. Goo.

Among Koo's clients were first division volleyball players, soccer players and idol group singers.

[Military Service Broker: (If you are not exempted) We will refund you in full.

It can't be 5th grade (no).

For level 5, father, we already have the data, father.] As

the prosecution is expanding its investigation into those who escaped military service with the help of Mr. Goo, there is a possibility that the number of suspects will increase further.
