When her 15-month-old daughter died, the so-called 'kimchi container abandonment case', which hid the body in a kimchi container for nearly three years, gave a big shock at the end of last year.

The child's funeral was held with the help of the relevant authorities, but her family was not present until the end.

The Uijeongbu District Prosecutor's Office announced that the funeral of an infant found in a kimchi container after three years was held on the 20th at a burial ground.

The deceased infant was put on trial after all of her birth parents were arrested, and other bereaved families did not take over the body due to economic difficulties, so they were in danger of a funeral without relatives.

Accordingly, the prosecution and the Northern Gyeonggi Crime Victim Support Center prepared funeral expenses, and civic groups, Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, and the police were able to hold the funeral with support.

However, it was reported that the bereaved family did not attend.

When her 15-month-old daughter died in 2020, the biological parents of the infant who died earlier were arrested and charged with hiding her body in a kimchi container for about three years and receiving her childcare allowance.
