A man in his 60s who wielded a weapon was sentenced to prison because his common-law spouse slept out.

According to the legal community today (26th), the Gwangju District Court Suncheon Branch Criminal Division 1 (Chief Judge Heo Jeong-hoon) sentenced A (61), who was arrested and indicted for attempted murder, to three years in prison and ordered to attach an electronic location tracking device for 10 years. .

Mr. A is accused of stabbing and injuring Mr. B (59), a common-law partner, on a road in Suncheon City on September 13 last year at 9:10 pm.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A committed the crime while arguing with Mr. B because he suspected cheating because he stayed out.

At the time of the crime, he called Mr. B out of the house and brandished a previously prepared weapon.

Surprised, Mr. B ran away from Mr. A, but he chased after Mr. B and stabbed him in the chest again, inflicting five weeks of total injuries on Mr. B.

The judge who looked at the case pointed out, "The danger of the crime seems to be considerable in light of the wounds suffered by the victim and the amount of blood shed."

"It can be assumed that the victim suffered extreme physical and mental pain at the time of the crime," he said. "Severe punishment commensurate with the guilt is inevitable for the accused."

However, he explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "The fact that the crime was only attempted, the fact that the victim pleaded for leniency for the accused, and the fact that the defendant took relief measures such as taking the victim to the hospital immediately after the crime was committed."
