This morning, a heavy snowfall warning was issued on Ulleungdo.

In the midst of a constant snowstorm, people were cut off in the park adjacent to the port, and the mountains were covered in white.

Yesterday and today, up to 76.5cm of heavy snow fell across Ulleungdo.

Vehicles were buried in the snow or had to be driven on chains, and fishing boats were stranded in the harbor.

Passenger ships to and from Ulleungdo have also been suspended.

[Kim Ae-yeon/Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do (Yesterday): It's snowing tremendously.

Originally, I was going to go today (yesterday), but I don't know when I will go because the boat has been canceled.]

As the round road was closed due to heavy snow, even the bus service to various places in Ulleungdo was cut off yesterday.

[Lee Jung-tae/Ulleung-gun residents: Residents are almost isolated.

He clears the snow in front of his house and waits while it clears the snow.

People who have toilets outside can hardly even go to the bathroom.]

Ulleung-gun mobilized snow removal vehicles, equipment, and manpower to put all its effort into snow removal.

[Jeong Soon-il/Ulleung-gun Office Employee: (Yesterday only) I worked for almost 20 hours.

It is still snowing a lot.]

Except for mountainous areas, bus service resumed at 10:00 am today, but passenger ferries to Ulleungdo are expected to normalize around 11:50 pm tonight.

Up to 20 cm more snow is expected to fall on Ulleungdo until the day after tomorrow, so residents are expected to experience more inconvenience.
