The Jeju Regional Aviation Administration announced today that a total of 233 domestic departure flights (approximately 43,000 passengers) were all canceled from Jeju Airport.



A total of 466 flights were canceled, including all 233 arriving flights.



In addition, 10 international flights from Jeju (5 departures, 5 arrivals) were also suspended.



Korean Air and Jeju Air made a decision on flight cancellations in advance from the day before and notified passengers of the canceled flights via mobile phone text message.



On the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, the Jeju Airport passenger terminal was crowded with passengers trying to book an alternative flight from early in the morning.



The Jeju Regional Aviation Administration and Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Airport added additional guides to support passengers who came to the airport to change their boarding flight due to airline cancellation.



In addition, a 'caution' level was issued in accordance with the Jeju International Airport Passenger Support Manual.



Depending on the warning stage, the Jeju Regional Aviation Administration plans to provide flight operation information and prepare countermeasures such as a temporary flight plan.



Jeju Island plans to discuss ways to support residents, such as public transportation, and Jeju Airport plans to take measures such as identifying the status of residents and providing goods to residents.



Currently, Jeju Airport has a sudden change wind warning and a strong wind warning in effect.
