Today (the 24th), the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, congestion continues in various places from the morning as last-minute homecoming vehicles are crowded on major highways across the country.

We will connect reporters at the Seoul Toll Gate.

Reporter Kim Min-joon, is the traffic flow getting better?

<Reporter>

I have been keeping my seat here at the Seoul Tollgate since early morning.

So far, at the Seoul Tollgate, cars are passing through at their own speed without major congestion.

However, congestion is still ongoing on major highways such as the Gyeongbu Line, Yeongdong Line, and Seohaean Line.

In particular, the flow is slow from Cheongju IC to Oksan JC in the Seoul direction of the Gyeongbu Line, and from Nami JC to Seo Cheongju IC in the Hanam direction of the Jungbu Line.

The congestion that started at 10:30 am is still ongoing beyond 4 pm, and it is expected to be resolved only after 10 pm.

Let's take a look at the current highway situation while watching CCTV.

First of all, near the Donggunpo IC of the Yeongdong Expressway, both directions are slow.

On the Gyeongbu Expressway Anseong Junction toward Seoul, cars are seldom speeding up.

The expected national traffic volume today is 4.32 million vehicles.

As of 4:00 PM, it will take 4 hours and 50 minutes from Busan to Seoul, 3 hours and 50 minutes from Gwangju, and 3 hours and 10 minutes from Gangneung.

It is becoming a tough road back home due to severe cold weather as well as traffic jams.

As long as 7 roads in Honam and Jeju are controlled and cold wave warnings and warnings are issued all over the country, you should be careful about safety accidents on snowy and icy roads.
