From the morning of the 19th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Violent Crime Investigation Team is seizing and searching the construction unions of the two major trade unions in relation to illegal activities at construction sites.

A total of 22 offices, including 5 offices of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, 3 offices of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, 6 offices of the Korea Federation and Construction Solidarity, were included in the search target.

The police are known to have launched an investigation after obtaining intelligence that these unions committed illegal acts such as forcing them to hire members at construction sites or demanding money and valuables.

The police are said to have secured data related to the operation of the union, such as accounting data, through this search and seizure.

So far, a total of 126 people have been booked through special crackdowns, and two of them have been arrested.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport also investigated 380 construction sites of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation nationwide and confirmed 270 cases of illegal acts by the construction union, and announced a strict response policy, including requesting a police investigation.
