A man in his 40s was sentenced to a fine for stalking his divorced wife by approaching her under a pseudonym and contacting her several times.

Today (19th), Criminal 11 of the Gwangju District Court (Judge Chung Eui-jeong) announced that he sentenced A (41), who was charged with violating the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes, to a fine of 5 million won.

Mr. A is accused of stalking, such as texting or calling victim B (31) 49 times for about a month from September 13 to October 9 of last year.

Mr. A, who approached the victim using a pseudonym, started by saying, “Do you have a boyfriend? , "I will give you 500,000 won of pocket money when we meet", "Let's get married and live together", etc.

It turns out that Mr. A is the ex-husband of Mr. B, and he pretended not to be himself and contacted his divorced ex-wife several times.

To Mr. A, who was standing in court, the judge pointed out, "The guilt is not light, such as impersonating someone else during the probation period and continuously contacting his ex-wife."

However, he revealed the reason for the sentencing, saying, "The fact that he has not contacted him anymore after the police warning and the fact that he is currently raising five minor children was comprehensively considered."
