A police officer in Daegu issued a fine on his own to avoid a fine for parking violations imposed by the local government, but was caught and investigated.

According to the Daegu Police Agency today (18th), Inspector A belonging to the Seongseo Police Station was illegally parked in a children's protection area in Dasa-eup, Dalseong-gun last month, and was cracked down by the county office.

He received a 120,000 won fine from the county office and issued a 40,000 won road traffic law violation notice (commonly known as a sticker) to himself and paid it.

Afterwards, Inspector A sent an objection to Dalseong-gun, along with the receipt of the fine, stating, "I have already paid the fine, but it is unfair to dispose of the fine again."

Dalseong-gun Office reviewed the objection application filed by Inspector A, found problems with the timing of issuance of notification, etc., and confirmed the facts with the Seongseo Police Station.

During the investigation, the Seongseo Police Station confirmed that Inspector A had 'self-issued' a notice to reduce the fine for parking violations, and reported the related facts to the Daegu Police Agency.

The Daegu Police Agency plans to inspect Inspector A sooner or later.
