An incumbent journalist was arrested by the police for causing a traffic accident after administering drugs.

The Incheon Yeonsu Police Station announced today (18th) that it has booked without detention a man in his 40s, a journalist from a media company, on charges of violating the drug management law.

Mr. A is suspected of causing an accident on the 11th at around 3 am in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, after administering drugs, driving his car and crashing into a vehicle in front.

The police, who were dispatched after receiving the report, took a breathalyzer test against Mr. A, but the alcohol level did not come out.

However, when Mr. A explained the circumstances of the accident and spoke gibberish, the police did a simple urine test, and a positive reaction came out and arrested him urgently.

The police applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A, but it was reported that the Incheon District Court dismissed it on the 12th on the grounds that "there is no fear of escape."

It is known that Mr. A admitted to the charges at the police, saying, "I administered methamphetamine a few days ago."

A police official said, "We are investigating the specific timing of administration and the route of acquisition."
