In Seoul, it is predicted that the rain will change to snow tonight (the 14th).

And from tomorrow it will be cold.

In Yeongdong, Gangwon Province, heavy snow damage is feared as a large snowfall of up to 60 cm is predicted by tomorrow.

I am a reporter in Gangneung, Gangwon-do.

Reporter Song Hye-rim of G1 Broadcasting, please tell us.

Yes, I am in downtown Gangneung right now.

Here in the Yeongdong area, the weather was like early spring until two days ago, but from today it started to rain or snow, and a lot of snow is predicted from the night.

In Gangwon-do, snow began to fall from the northern mountains where a heavy snowfall warning was issued, and the snowfall is gradually getting stronger in the central and southern regions where a heavy snowfall warning was issued.

So far, snow has accumulated in Misiryeong 24.7cm, Jinburyeong 11.6cm, and Daegwanryeong 7.3cm.

This afternoon, at one point in the Daegwallyeong area, traffic congestion, such as a vehicle slipping accident, was caused by the sudden snow.

The snow that started in the mountains has expanded to most of the entire area tonight, and it is expected that up to 60cm or more of snow will fall in many places until the day after tomorrow.

For this reason, each city and county in the Yeongdong region took measures to remove snow.

It is a plan to prevent traffic inconvenience by designating intensive snow-removing sections and deploying emergency workers, spraying calcium chloride intensively on snow-removing vulnerable areas such as sharp curves at dawn or at night, and repairing roadside drains.

Meanwhile, in the Yeongdong region, a dry warning issued since November 29 of last year continued for over a month, but this snow has eased concerns about forest fires.

Snow is expected to continue through Monday.

This snow is particularly humid and wet, so it may cause barns, vinyl houses, or sinking of small ships anchored due to the accumulated snow.

Special care must be taken to prevent damage to facilities.
