It has been revealed that a police officer in Seoul approached the mother of a suspect in a case she was in charge of and asked for sex in order to solve the case.

The Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced today (12th) that Inspector A was placed on standby on the 11th and excluded from duty.

At the end of last year, Lieutenant A called the suspect's mother, B, to a drinking party.

At the time, Inspector A named Mr. B's child by name and said, "Since you solved the case, can you buy me a drink?" I asked for a bed.

Feeling humiliated by her, Mr. B managed to avoid the seat by saying that he would go to her house for a while, and after that, she sent a text message to Inspector A saying, 'I felt sexually ashamed'.

In response to this text, Lieutenant A stopped contacting him, but it was found that he even tried to appease B with money regarding his inappropriate behavior.

Incumbent police officers should not have private contact with the person involved in the incident, and if it is unavoidable, they must report it in advance.

Based on the information from Mr. B, who recorded the conversation at the time of drinking, the police reported that Inspector A had behaved inappropriately in relation to his duties, and placed him on standby and removed him from his duties at the same time.

A police official said that follow-up measures such as disciplinary actions against Inspector A will be taken through further investigation.
