A former Osstem Implant employee who was handed over to trial for embezzling more than 200 billion won of company money was sentenced to 35 years in prison.



Seoul Southern District Court Criminal Settlement Division 14 (Chief Judge Kim Dong-hyun) today (11th) sentenced 35 years in prison and a fine of 30 million won to a 46-year-old former Osstem Implant finance team leader Mr. sentenced.



The court sentenced Lee, who is accused of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes, and ordered him to collect 115.18797 million 555 won.



His wife, Park Mo, who participated in his crime, was also sentenced to three years in prison for violating the Act on Concealment of Criminal Proceeds.



His sister-in-law and sister were each sentenced to two years in prison and three years probation for the same charges.



The judge said, "Even if the defendant endures punishment after the incident, there are traces of calculating that he will secure property or use the property to enjoy profits after being released from prison." I explained why.



Mr. Lee was arrested and indicted in January of last year on charges of transferring a total of 221.5 billion won from a company account to a securities account under his name on 15 occasions from November 2020 to October 2021, and then using it for stock investment.
