An outbreak of class X1.9 began at 21:37 Moscow time, its peak was at 21:50, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the Institute, this outbreak was the 15th in the current day.
The agency recalled that solar flares can cause magnetic storms on Earth.
Earlier, Anastasia Yusupova, a cardiologist and therapist at the St. Luke Clinical Hospital in St. Petersburg, told what measures should be taken by weather-dependent people and patients with chronic diseases during a magnetic storm.
