The Military Manpower Administration and the prosecution's joint investigation team, which is investigating the military service corruption case, requested an arrest warrant for another 'military service broker' Mr. Kim.

It was confirmed that the 5th Criminal Division of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor's Office (Chief Prosecutor Park Eun-hye) requested an arrest warrant for Kim last week on charges of violating the Military Service Act.

The joint investigation team judged that Mr. Kim, along with Mr. Koo, a military service broker who had already been arrested and indicted, arranged fake epilepsy diagnoses for requesters to exempt from military service, and even made threatening offers.

The joint investigation team also caught circumstances in which Mr. Kim violated the Military Service Act, such as accepting an amount of over 100 million won from his client and others during this process.

Previously, the prosecution requested an arrest warrant for Kim once, but it was dismissed.

The warrant review for Mr. Kim (interrogation of the suspect before arrest) will be held today (9th) at 10:30 am at the Seoul Southern District Court.

There are currently two military service brokers on the prosecution's investigation line, Mr. Kim and Mr. Koo, but the prosecution is continuing the investigation without ruling out the possibility of further increase depending on the investigation situation in the future.

The prosecution believes that between 70 and 100 clients who have been exempted from military service or have their military service grade adjusted through these two military service brokers are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the sports and medical fields.

Prosecutors are confirming whether they are involved in the medical community by securing and analyzing medical records from hospitals and clinics who went through Mr. Kim and Mr. Gu, while also taking over related records from the Military Manpower Administration.
