A Chinese immigrant in his 40s who refused to quarantine and fled after being confirmed with Corona 19 was arrested in Seoul during the day.

The police caught Mr. A hiding in a hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul at 12:55 today.

Mr. A arrived at Incheon Airport the day before yesterday, but he was tested positive for the corona and was scheduled to be quarantined in a hotel in Yeongjong Island for a week.

However, at around 10:00 p.m. the other night, Mr. A, who arrived at the hotel parking lot, a quarantine facility, with other confirmed patients, packed his luggage and ran away while the quarantine officials were away for a while to follow the quarantine procedure.

[Temporary quarantine facility (hotel) staff: (Family members) say, 'We'll quarantine you, so we'll take you.'

I went down there and wrote down the names of my family members.]

Mr. A got out of the car, went to a large mart about 300 meters away from the hotel, and took a taxi to Seoul.

The police have been pursuing Mr. A on suspicion of violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act and based on CCTV.

At the time of the escape, the temporary quarantine facility was urgently designated as the number of confirmed arrivals increased.

Because of this, unlike the existing facilities, it was found that there were no police security personnel deployed.

After escaping, Mr. A is known to have stayed at a hotel in Seoul for two days and even went out.

The police said that they brought Mr. A back to Yeongjong Island and accommodated him in a hotel room, a temporary living facility.
