Today (5th) daytime, in front of a hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.

A police vehicle arrives, and after a while, a man dressed in white is dragged away by the police from both sides.

This is Mr. A, a 41-year-old Chinese man who refused to be quarantined and fled the day before yesterday.

This is a hotel where a Chinese man stayed.

This man was caught by the police while staying in a room on the 16th floor here.

[Hotel officials: Detectives came in droves.

You know we're guests.

I don't know if that person is like that, so there are so many Chinese here...

It was confirmed that Mr. A got out of the temporary quarantine facility in Jung-gu, Incheon and took a taxi to the hotel.

A hotel was also booked during his move, and his wife, who tested negative for Corona unlike her husband at the immigration inspection, also joined.

Mr. A is known to have been with his wife for two days and went out with a confirmed condition.

The police charged Mr. A with violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act and transferred him to a temporary quarantine facility where he fled the day before.

[Mr. A/Chinese refusal to quarantine: (Why did you run away? What is the purpose of coming to Korea?) …

.]

It was found that Mr. A, who had traveled to and from Korea and China 5 times, answered that he was for 'medical purposes' when entering the country this time.

The police plan to consult with the quarantine authorities on how and when to investigate Mr. A.

This is because Mr. A is a confirmed case and must be quarantined for 7 days.

After the investigation, a decision is made on whether to file criminal charges, forced departure, and entry restrictions for a certain period of time through consultation with the relevant authorities.
