The overpass near Sindorim Station in Seoul, which has been open for about six and a half years, has collapsed and traffic has been restricted.

Today (3rd) at around 1:40 am, the Dorimbo overpass connecting Dorim-dong and Sindorim Station in Yeongdeungpo-gu collapsed, and the overpass and lower bicycle roads and trails were completely controlled.

The police received a 112 report that the middle part of the Dorimbo Overpass had collapsed at around 1:01 am on the same day, and were dispatched to the scene to control the entrance to both sides of the overpass and the Dorimcheon trail.

11 fire trucks and 45 firefighters were also mobilized to respond to the scene.

As a result of the on-site investigation, it was found that some of the support cement and railing iron supporting the overpass were damaged, but no casualties were reported.

Currently, Yeongdeungpo-gu is managing by installing control fences and deploying on-site personnel.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government sent a safety guidance text announcing traffic restrictions around 6:00 am, the rush hour, and asked "residents using it to detour."

Yeongdeungpo-gu and Seoul City are planning to find out the exact cause through an on-site investigation.

The Dorim pedestrian overpass is a pedestrian bridge with a width of 2.5m and a length of 104.6m that connects Dorim-dong and Sindorim Station across the Dorimcheon.

It is an arch shape without piers in a truss structure made by weaving steel materials into triangles.

Construction began in April 2015 with a total project cost of KRW 2.8 billion and was opened in late May 2016.
