A 20-year-old man who assaulted and killed a co-worker at a motel in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province has been handed over to trial.

The 3rd Criminal Division of the Jeonju District Prosecutor's Office (Chief Prosecutor Kwon Chan-hyeok) announced today (2nd) that it has arrested and indicted Mr.

Mr. A is accused of indiscriminately assaulting and killing woman B with a blunt weapon made of metal at a motel in Jeonju on the 4th of last month.

Immediately after the crime, he called 911 to report that "his colleague had collapsed and died."

However, the police started investigating Mr. A as a prime suspect and confirmed the circumstances in which he committed the crime against Mr. B.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A threatened Mr. B to write a 'false IOU' with 34 million won on it and forced him to engage in prostitution.

Mr. A even intercepted the money for prostitution, but the prosecution explained that it is difficult to confirm the exact amount of damage as the victim died.

It was found out through a live broadcasting app that the two, who went to the same job, had been living together for about 5 months.

After taking over the case from the police, the prosecution investigated the circumstances of Mr. A's crime through additional seizure and search.

An official from the Jeonju District Prosecutor's Office said, "We paid attention to the protection of the victim, such as selecting public defenders for the bereaved family and supporting the crime victim aid fund."
