A 20-year-old man who stole and drove a car while intoxicated and ran away was arrested and handed over to the prosecution.



The 20-year-old was found to have committed another crime just a month after being released on parole after serving a prison sentence for drunk driving.



Today (2nd), the Wonju Police Station in Gangwon Province announced that it had sent A, in his twenties, to the prosecution for suspicion of theft.



Mr. A is accused of drunk driving without a license, such as stealing and driving an Avante vehicle in an alley in Bongsan-dong, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do at around 3:08 pm on December 27 of last year and crashing into two stopped vehicles.



At the time, it was confirmed that Mr. A had an accident while running for about 2.4 km with a blood alcohol level of more than 0.2% drunk.



Mr. A fled the scene after the accident, but was arrested as a current criminal by the dispatched police.



As a result of the police investigation, Mr. A was sentenced to two years in prison for drunk driving in January of last year and released on parole in November of the same year, and it was revealed that he committed the same crime again.



The police arrested and investigated Mr. A on charges of theft, driving without a license under the Road Traffic Act, and driving under the influence, and sent the case to the prosecution.
