It all started in Boedo

, that small neighborhood of Buenos Aires with a literary and tango past, poets and cafes.

There,

Dany Cocchia,

along with his wife Roxana, decided to follow in the family culinary footsteps and open, together

with the Dany Rotisserie that his parents founded in 1992

, La Birra Bar.

Today this banner signs

the 'best burger in the United States of 2022', a title achieved at the Burger Bash

, one of the most recognized American contests.

(that is, the winner) is also the star of the venue that has just opened on Carrera de San Jerónimo, a few steps from Madrid's Puerta del Sol.

"My parents had a takeaway homemade food business

in the small and picturesque neighborhood of Boedo with which they fed the palates and hearts

of our neighbors. In 2001, we set up La Birra Bar right next door with the intention of serving these dishes in the local tables", explains Dany Cocchia from Buenos Aires, who remembers those times when empanadas, chicken, matambre, Milanese... were the soul of the house.

And it is that the

hamburger revolution

took a while to arrive.

Fans of this carnivorous medallion,

"as soon as we began to test what was on the market at that time,

we knew that we could do better and offer a style that had not yet been consolidated in the country or in the world"

.

No sooner said than done.

After experimenting and experimenting, trying and trying, in 2014 the hamburger

settled

in their lives, and with it La Birra Bar grew to become an entire chain (

number 5 in the world top 2022 of the best

hamburger restaurants produced by the renowned

): 13 stores in Argentina, one in Miami (opened in August 2021) and now also in Madrid.

"The style is unique.

Although it has a certain sophistication, it is not a gourmet hamburger,

much less a fashionable one like the

smash burger ; it is a timeless product. We believe that

the success of our product lies

Simplicity behind which there is a lot of work in search of perfection that, according to Dany, is built on two pillars: its "

unique blend of selected meat cuts" and cloud bread

- faithful to the original recipe from the beginning - between vienna and brioche,

soft, fluffy and flavored with butter.

Meat and bread completed with

to do the Europes

, starting with Madrid

, where they have traveled for months to launch the project.

"We are receiving proposals to expand La Birra Bar to the most important areas of the world, and Madrid seemed like

a good gateway to Europe

. We are also considering reaching Portugal", continues Dany.

For now they have settled in the Spanish capital and in a few weeks it will be twice, since they

are finishing the premises at Calle Postas, 12, very close to the Plaza Mayor.

The Madrid restaurant menu offers 17 different hamburgers.

For the Madrid landing they have opted for
