The local public health center issued an administrative disposition against a postpartum care center in Busan for not notifying the parents of a 13-day-old baby's fall accident for about a day.

The Busan Saha Public Health Center announced that it disposed of a fine of 2 million won for a postpartum care center in the city where a newborn baby fell accident last month.

Under the current law, when a baby is transferred to a medical institution, the postpartum care center must report it to the local public health center without delay, but the postpartum care center reported it one day after the baby was transferred to the hospital.

Previously, the Saha Health Center had also filed a complaint with the police on charges that the postpartum care center did not transfer the child to a medical institution in time.

The Saha Health Center found that this postpartum care center did not take appropriate measures by notifying the parents and transferring them to the hospital a day later even after the fall accident occurred.

An official from the Saha Health Center said, "The postpartum care center admitted all violations and expressed its intention to pay the fine sooner or later."

On the 28th of last month, at a postpartum care center in Busan, a 13-day-old baby fell from the treatment table, but the care center notified the parents of this a day later on the 29th.

At the time, the baby was taken to the hospital in the aftermath of the accident and underwent surgery for a brain hemorrhage.

The police are conducting an investigation, such as reviewing the application of business negligence against the nursing assistants who were at the scene at the time of the incident.
