It is said that those who produce calendars and diaries are in trouble as the government promotes next year's Buddha's Birthday and Christmas as alternative holidays.

If a substitute holiday is confirmed next year according to government policy, Christmas is not applicable as it falls on a Monday, but Buddha's Birthday may be designated as Saturday, May 27th, and Monday, May 29th as substitute holidays.

According to the related industry, printing is usually completed by summer considering the schedule for distribution in early December.

It is too late to newly reflect the substitute holiday.

According to the Enforcement Decree of the Astronomical Law, the Minister of Science and ICT must prepare and publish the calendar for the following year in the Official Gazette by the end of June every year.

In order to prevent confusion in the following year, it is necessary to determine the holidays that go into the calendar by the first half of the year, but as that period has already passed, some areas are experiencing inconvenience.

In particular, there are concerns that not only those who are aiming for promotional effects through calendars, but also the elderly, who are not familiar with smartphones and rely on paper calendars, may experience great inconvenience.
