However, another sex crime occurred in the Navy, and the victim, a female soldier in her 20s, was found dead a few days ago.

<Reporter> The

day before yesterday (27th), a female sergeant in her early twenties belonging to the Naval Education Command was found dead outside an apartment in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do.

The military police and civilian police are jointly investigating the cause of Sergeant A's death, weighing the possibility of an extreme choice.

An investigation official said, "Sergeant A left a will."

The original affiliation of Sergeant A, a nautical class, was not an instructor, but the mother fleet of the Navy.

There, he was reportedly transferred to an educator under the Perpetrator and Victim Separation Measures after being sexually harassed by a male colleague.

He applied for leave of absence in September and has since been staying at home with his family.

The civil and military police believe that the sex crime that occurred in the unit belonging to Sergeant A may be related to the death of Sergeant A, and are securing statements from unit commanders.

The civil and military police do not rule out the possibility that a second offense may have occurred at the Education Command.

It is also subject to investigation whether the Navy Gender Equality Center and the Gender Grievance Counseling Center adequately protected Sergeant A.

The two agencies have managed Sergeant A since the sexual harassment incident occurred, and have maintained contact with Sergeant A even after the leave of absence.

The Navy said it would thoroughly investigate the truth of the death of Sergeant A so that no suspicion remains.
