Today (29th), the manager of a Chinese restaurant, who was pointed out as a key figure after suspicions that China is running a secret police station in Korea, made an official explanation.

In the meantime, he claimed that he had been operating normally at the restaurant, but he said that he would hold a briefing session again two days later for 30,000 won each.

First of all, I am reporter Kim Ah-young.

This is the first official explanation by Wang Haijun, the manager of the restaurant, who has been at the center of the controversy since suspicions of China's so-called secret police station were raised.

[Wang Haijun/Oriental Pearl Manager: (Chinese restaurant) Oriental Pearl was a normal business place, but after the incident, it was on the cutting board.

It is unreasonable to apply pressure and obstruction for no reason.]

While introducing himself as a public figure who has lived in Korea for nearly 20 years, Mr. Wang virtually denied any suspicions that he was involved with the secret police department.

He said that while serving as the president of the Association of Korean Residents in Korea, he also serves as the director of the Seoul Flower & Bird Center.

The Flower and Bird Center is a group that Safeguard Defenders, an overseas human rights group, pointed out as a link when raising suspicions about the Chinese secret police.

Instead of giving a concrete refutation, Mr. Wang announced that he would hold a briefing two days later for 30,000 won each to clarify the truth.

[Wang Haijun/Oriental Pearl Manager: Tickets are sold on consignment to a third Korean institution and sold until sold out at 30,000 won per person.]

After the 20-minute press conference, as you can see, the phrase pro-US forces versus pro-China forces was displayed on the electronic display board.

The Chinese embassy in Korea maintains the position that China's overseas secret police department does not exist, but this press conference was held in Wang's personal name.
