A man in his 50s who was handed over to trial on charges of threatening a public official with a weapon when an application for basic benefits was not made at an administrative welfare center in Incheon was sentenced to prison.



Today (28th), the 10th detective of the Incheon District Court (Judge Hyun Seon-hye) announced that he sentenced Mr. A (50), who was charged with special obstruction of justice and intimidation, to one year in prison.



Mr. A was indicted on charges of threatening with a weapon at an administrative welfare center in Namdong-gu, Incheon on September 30th at around 2:00 pm, saying "I will kill you first" to an administrative official B (33).



Previously, he tried to apply for basic benefits at the Administrative Welfare Center at around 1:30 pm on the same day, but was informed by the public official in charge to "report to Incheon first." 



Angry at this, Mr. A said, “I am terminally ill, can I come to apply at that time if I die?” and said, “I am going to die anyway, so I am not afraid of the police even if I kill people” and went back.



Afterwards, Mr. A returned in 30 minutes with a weapon in his bag and committed such a crime, saying, "I don't want to hurt civil servants," and "I came to kill only public officials." 



His crimes did not stop there. 



Even when he was arrested and put in by the police, he called the Administrative Welfare Center on his cell phone at around 3:00 pm on the same day and threatened.



The judge said, "The defendant's crime is not good and the guilt is heavy."



He said, “I reported to 112 right before the crime on the charge of special obstruction of justice. revealed.
